A voluntary international network of people who open doors, build partnerships and champion the dignity of vulnerable communities.
The D&C Global Ambassadors Network brings together trusted individuals around the world who share the vision, mission and values of the Dorothy and Cecilia Memorial Foundation. Together, they help the Foundation extend its visibility, relationships, partnerships, expertise and resources beyond Cameroon.
The Network is built on a simple idea: people can contribute in many ways, not only through donations. Opening a door, introducing a decision-maker, sharing professional knowledge or advocating for a cause can be just as valuable.
A mission-driven, relationship-based community of volunteers who advocate for D&C Memorial, facilitate partnerships and help mobilise resources for its programmes.
Not a fundraising sales force. Ambassadors are volunteers, not employees, and represent the Foundation only within the authority they are given.
Relationships, credibility, time, knowledge and access are all valuable forms of support. Ambassadors contribute in the ways that suit their experience and networks.
Champion the Foundation's mission, share approved campaigns and raise awareness of the issues it addresses.
Identify academic, corporate, civil-society and institutional partners, and facilitate introductions and meetings.
Identify donors and funding opportunities, support campaigns and facilitate in-kind resources and professional services.
Attend approved conferences and events, and connect D&C Memorial with international coalitions and networks.
We welcome credible people regardless of nationality, gender, professional background or social status: development and NGO professionals, academics, health and humanitarian practitioners, business leaders, lawyers, journalists, faith and community leaders, diaspora professionals, friends of Cameroon, and young professionals and students with relevant networks.
Personal wealth is not a requirement. An Ambassador’s value may lie in an introduction, expertise, visibility or a partnership, not necessarily in a personal donation.
Appointments normally last one year and may be renewed after review.
Submit an expression of interest online, or be nominated by an Ambassador, Board member, staff member or partner.
We review your professional background and may carry out reference checks.
Where needed, we invite you to a short interview or consultation.
The Foundation approves your appointment and sends you a formal appointment letter.
You sign the Ambassador Charter and receive your certificate and recognition materials.
The Ambassador role is voluntary. In return, the programme offers recognition, affiliation, learning and connection with a growing international community, plus practical support for Ambassadors who actively mobilise funds.
Ambassadors who actively raise funds for D&C Memorial through their own direct and documented efforts may receive an allocation of up to 10% of the eligible funds mobilised. It helps cover the real costs of the role, such as communications, local transport, meetings, networking, events and representation.
Appointed Ambassadors sign the Charter after receiving their appointment letter. You do not need to sign it to apply, but please read it so you know what the role involves.
Tell us about yourself, your networks and how you would like to support D&C Memorial. The form takes about 10 minutes.
